Skin checks in Auckland & Christchurch

Book a professional full-body skin check at Healthbox's Auckland or Christchurch clinic, where highly qualified skin cancer clinical nurse specialists examine your skin using dermoscopy. $155 including GST, no referral needed. New Zealand has the highest melanoma rate in the world, and early detection saves lives.

Why a skin check matters

New Zealand has the highest melanoma incidence and mortality rate in the world. Melanoma is one of the most common cancers here, yet most people delay getting checked until a spot has already changed.

Early detection saves lives. A regular professional skin check gives you the best chance of catching something early, when it is far easier to treat. You do not need a reason or a referral to book. Peace of mind is reason enough.

Your check is carried out by highly qualified skin cancer clinical nurse specialists trained in dermoscopy. They use dermatoscopes, handheld microscopes that reveal detail beneath the surface of the skin, to examine you thoroughly.

How it works

A thorough check, in three steps.

  1. 01

    Complete your risk assessment

Before your appointment you complete an online Skin Cancer Risk Assessment. It takes a few minutes and helps our clinicians focus on what matters for you.

  2. 02

    Head-to-toe dermoscopy

At the clinic, a skin cancer clinical nurse specialist examines your skin from head to toe using a dermatoscope, a handheld microscope that reveals detail the naked eye cannot see.

  3. 03

    Advice and next steps

You receive clear advice on the day, along with recommendations for any follow-up, monitoring or referral needed. Nothing is left to guesswork.
