The Healthbox clinical team together in a New Zealand clinic

About us

A family business with a simple idea

Health checks shouldn't be something Kiwis never get around to. Healthbox was founded by Trish Baker in 2006 to bring good care to the places people actually are: their workplaces.

Our story

It started with the people who never book.

Founder Trish Baker set out to answer one question: what would it take to get an entire workforce actually checked? Not a poster in the break room, but real checks, in the building, on the clock.

The answer became Healthbox: a full clinical team that brings skin checks, health and safety screening and more to the workplace, with every result and record captured in Healthbox Live.

  1. 2006

    Founded by a clinician

Trish Baker, a clinical nurse specialist, starts Healthbox to bring health checks to where people actually are: the workplace, on the clock.

  2. The proof

7,000 staff, one site at a time

A nationwide banking programme runs workplace by workplace over nine years. When good care is placed in front of people, they show up for it.

    34% 84%workforce participation

  3. Today

A full clinical team, plus Live

Nurses, exercise physiologists, doctors, psychologists and nutritionists deliver nationwide, with every booking and record captured in Healthbox Live.

What we stand for

Compliance done with care, always.

Three things every clinic carries, whether it's five people or five thousand.

Compliance done with care
Meeting your obligations is part of looking after your people. A health check is fifteen to thirty minutes that can change someone's life, and we staff and schedule like that's true.
Easy is the whole point
Every barrier we remove (travel, booking calls, spreadsheets) means more people actually get checked. That's how participation goes from 34% to 84%.
Family standards
We're small enough that every client knows our names, and every clinic carries the founder's standards. You'll never be an account number.

Our model

A cycle, not a one-off.

Every programme runs the same proven loop. We start by understanding what your people are actually exposed to, design the right mix of services, and set up self-booking and support in Healthbox Live before anyone rolls up a sleeve.

Then we deliver onsite, measure what changed, and feed the insights into the next round, so your wellbeing calendar gets smarter every year instead of starting from scratch.

The Healthbox model: a five-step cycle of needs assessment, design, create support system, implement, then evaluate and monitor

Meet the team

The faces your team will actually see.

No call centres, no rotating contractors. These are the clinicians and people who plan your programme and turn up on the day.

What workplaces say about working with us

Auckland
Bookings filled within two days of the link going out. The clinicians were brilliant with our drivers and warehouse crew. People who'd normally never get a skin check were first in line.

Wellington
We run hybrid teams across three floors and home offices. Healthbox handled the lot: onsite health checks for the building, remote ergonomic assessments for everyone else. Zero admin on our side.

The de-identified workforce report gave our leadership team the evidence to fund a full wellbeing calendar. Participation hit 87%. Our previous off-site programme never cracked 30%.
