Optimise comfort. Prevent injury. Support performance.

Our Ergonomic Workstation Assessments are designed to help your people work comfortably, safely and efficiently. We identify and address the factors contributing to discomfort and strain, preventing musculoskeletal injuries while supporting wellbeing and productivity.

Delivered by Clinical Exercise Physiologists, each assessment evaluates how the individual interacts with their workstation and daily tasks: work habits, setup and risk factors. Adjustments happen on the spot, not weeks later in a report.

Both onsite and virtual options are available across New Zealand, plus a roving format for larger groups.

Ergonomic Workstation Assessments: your questions answered

What happens in an ergonomic workstation assessment?
A Clinical Exercise Physiologist reviews the person's work habits, symptoms and role demands, assesses their workstation equipment and layout, identifies posture and movement risk factors, makes on-the-spot adjustments, and provides personalised coaching. A written report with recommendations follows.
Can ergonomic assessments be done remotely for home workers?
Yes. Healthbox delivers virtual ergonomic assessments anywhere in New Zealand via video call, ideal for hybrid and work-from-home staff. The physiologist guides the employee through the same assessment and adjustment process used onsite.
What is a roving ergonomic assessment?
A roving assessment is a shorter 10-minute format designed for larger employee groups. The assessor moves desk to desk making quick workstation checks, identifying risk factors and making on-the-spot adjustments. The organisation receives a summary report of common ergonomic themes.
Are employers required to provide ergonomic assessments in NZ?
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, employers must manage risks to worker health so far as reasonably practicable, and that includes musculoskeletal risks from poor workstation setup. Proactive ergonomic assessment is the accepted way to identify and control those risks before they become injuries and ACC claims.
