Comprehensive Ergonomic Workstation Assessments

Our Ergonomic Workstation Assessments are designed to help your people work comfortably, safely, and efficiently. By identifying and addressing factors that contribute to discomfort and strain, these assessments help prevent musculoskeletal injuries while supporting employee well-being and productivity.

Delivered by our Clinical Exercise Physiologists - specialists in human movement and performance - each assessment focuses on how the individual interacts with their workstation and daily tasks. We observe work habits, evaluate workstation setup, and identify potential risk factors that may contribute to pain, tension, or fatigue.

Assessments can be delivered onsite at your workplace or virtually, making them accessible for teams located anywhere across New Zealand.

How it works

What's involved

Each 30-minute session includes:

  • Individual needs review – discussion of work habits, current symptoms, and the physical demands of the role.

  • Workstation assessment – evaluation of the employee's workstation setup, including equipment, layout, and task design.

  • Risk factor identification – assessment of posture (seated and standing), movement patterns, and equipment use to identify potential contributors to musculoskeletal strain.

  • Immediate workstation adjustments – practical changes made on the spot to improve comfort, posture, and ergonomics.

  • Education and coaching – personalised guidance on posture, equipment use, and work habits to help prevent future discomfort.

  • Movement and break strategies – advice on stretching, movement, and rest breaks to support musculoskeletal health throughout the workday.

Personalised Reporting

Following each assessment, your organisation receives a detailed report outlining:

  • The individual's functional capabilities

  • Their job requirements and current workstation environment

  • Contributing factors to current or potential musculoskeletal discomfort or injury risk

  • Practical recommendations for workplace adjustments, including equipment or setup changes

  • Personalised advice for stretches and exercises to support musculoskeletal health

  • Referrals to other health professionals (such as physiotherapists or doctors) where appropriate

Roving Ergonomic Assessments

For organisations looking for a quick and efficient way to support a large number of employees, we also offer Roving Ergonomic Assessments. These shorter assessments provide a brief workstation check and practical guidance to help employees improve comfort and reduce strain during their workday.

Each appointment lasts approximately 10 minutes and focuses on:

  • A quick review of the employee's workstation setup

  • Identification of any obvious ergonomic risk factors

  • Simple on-the-spot adjustments where possible

  • Practical tips to improve posture, workstation use, and daily work habits

This format is ideal for organisations wanting to provide ergonomic support to a larger number of employees in a shorter timeframe.

Following the programme, your organisation receives an overall summary report highlighting common ergonomic themes and potential risk areas across the workforce, helping inform future workplace wellbeing or equipment decisions.
